The club was founded in 1977 as 'Stowmarket Railway Club', but in 2020 it was decided to change the name to 'Stowmarket Model Railway Club' in order to better fit with the interests of the members.  

The aim of the club is to stimulate interest in Model Railways, and it meets every Tuesday evening throughout the year at our clubrooms near Stowmarket, Suffolk.
